This Saturday, April 26th, marks the eagerly anticipated grand opening of the W.A.Y. Center (Women and Youth creative arts and skills development center), promising a day packed with community spirit, entertainment, and opportunities for learning. Founded by the dynamic mother-daughter duo, LaTresa Harris and Daunyae Harris, the center aims to empower and inspire through creative arts and skill-building activities.
Located in West Lancaster, Ca, the W.A.Y. Center opens its doors to the public with a free community event that celebrates artistry, education, and community engagement. From 10am to 3pm, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities designed to entertain and educate people of all ages and backgrounds.
"We wanted to create a space where women and youth can discover and nurture their talents while connecting with each other," explained LaTresa Harris, co-founder of the center. "This grand opening is not just about celebrating our launch but about showcasing the power of community and creativity."
The event lineup is as diverse as the community it serves. Live entertainment will grace the stage throughout the day, featuring performances by B. Alyse and iLead Spirit Squad. Workshops focusing on creative arts, personal development, and fitness will be available, offering attendees valuable insights and hands-on experience.
"We're thrilled to offer workshops that cater to various interests, from painting and crafting to career development and wellness," added Daunyae Harris, co-founder and youth advocate. "It's about providing tools and opportunities that empower our community members to thrive."
In addition to the enriching workshops, the event will feature local vendors offering unique goods and services, ensuring there's something for everyone to explore. Food trucks, such as Haywoods Hot Doggs, D's Smokin BBQ, and Barrio's will be on-site, serving up delicious bites to keep energy high throughout the festivities.
For LaTresa and Daunyae Harris, the W.A.Y. Center represents a culmination of their dedication to uplifting women and youth in Southern California. Their vision of a vibrant community hub where creativity meets empowerment is set to become a reality this weekend.
"We invite everyone to join us in celebrating this milestone," urged LaTresa Harris. "Whether you're a parent looking for activities for your children or someone eager to learn new skills, the W.A.Y. Center welcomes you with open arms."

The grand opening promises not only a day of fun and entertainment but also a glimpse into the future of community engagement and empowerment through creativity. With activities for all ages and interests, the W.A.Y. Center's debut event is set to leave a lasting impression on attendees, fostering connections and inspiring growth within the community.
